Lecturer/Lab Technician – Chemistry

This is a Contract position in Odessa, TX posted April 21, 2020.

The College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Texas Permian Basin seeks applicants for a non-tenure track, lecturer/laboratory technician position in Chemistry.

We are interested in all areas of chemistry – more specifically, the ability to teach laboratory-oriented courses such as general chemistry I and II, as well as the organic chemistry I and II laboratories.

The general responsibilities for this position include:
• Teaching and instruction within one of our University laboratories, as well as maintaining and managing it as a classroom environment
• Assisting undergraduate students and other faculty with their research projects
• Managing laboratory equipment and supplies
• Completing laboratory preparations prior to use of the lab
• Other duties, as assigned Required Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in Chemistry from an accredited program/college
• Experience with lab equipment
• An extensive record of laboratory work and experience Preferred Qualifications:
• PhD in Chemistry
