– San Antonio Department Department Of Computing & Cyber Security Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location San Antonio, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description The College of Business is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure-track appointment beinning in Fall 2020.

The appointment is for an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing and Cyber Security to teach undergraduate courses and advise students.

The College offers a BS degree in Computer Science, a BSA degree in Computer Information Systems a BAAS degree in Information Technology and a BS degree in Cyber Engineering Technology.

In addition, the college offer an MS degree in Computer Science.

The department plans to seek ABET and/or AACSB accreditation for its programs.

Job duties require quality performance in teaching, research and service.

Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Information Systems, and some courses in Computer Science.

This position will give preference to candidates who: 1) Have a teaching record in Computer Information Systems, including several of the fields of Data Mining, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Systems Analysis and Design and Enterprise Systems/Decision Support Systems.

2) Have potential/record of research productivity such as publications in high quality refereed journals and conferences in the field of CIS or a very closely related field; 3) Have relevant certification and industry experience in a CIS capacity 4) Familiar with non-traditional commuter University setting.

5) Experience in working with culturally diverse populations.

The successful candidate must have: 1) A Ph.D.

(before hire date) in Computer Information Systems or a very closely related field 2) Research experience in the field as demonstrated by academic publications and/or research grants 3) Experience in teaching CIS or computing courses at the College or University level.

4) Have effective written and oral communications skills.

5) Must have 18 graduate hours in Computer Information Systems / Computer Science 6) Have demonstrated skills in writing computer application programs, Other Requirements: Must have ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service to students, employees, and the community.

Ability to provide curriculum and professional advice to students, Preferred: Preference will be given to candidates who hold current relevant certification.

Experience with a Learning Management System such as Blackboard.

Experience in program and course development.

Work hours depend on course schedule.

Teaching assignments may include day, night, and/or weekend classes.
