DescriptionGeorgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for a Scaler at our Plywood Mill in Camden, TX. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Wood Scaling process. If you enjoy learning new things and would like the opportunity to work with computers and systems in a manufacturing environment, this is the position for you!What You Will Do In Your RoleInspecting incoming log trucks to ensure supplier quality specifications are metEnsuring that the quality of the wood received meets our quality standards, helping us to produce a high-quality productUsing multiple computer systems to track incoming and outgoing loads to ensure that production is maximized, and our product gets to market quicklyWriting warning/reject notices for loads not meeting specificationsWorking with logging contractors and foresters to assist in correcting wood and fiber quality issuesMaintaining inventory information for raw materials; reporting daily usages and inventories to accounting, wood and fiber supply and mill personnelCreating and providing reports relative to wood and fiber inventories, deliveries, and wood qualityCoordinating outgoing shipments with other Georgia-Pacific mills, customer, drivers, and vendorsThe Experience You Will BringRequirements:High school diploma or GEDWilling and able to work rotating twelve (12) hour shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidaysExperience with Microsoft Office Word, e.g.; creating documents & mail merge, Excel e.g.; creating spreadsheets, utilizing formulas, & analyzing data, and Outlook, e.g.; scheduling meeting invites & e-mailingWilling and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipmentWilling and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environmentWhat Will Put You AheadExperience using WinScale tracking softwareExperience tracking inventory levelsExperience in a wood products manufacturing environmentExperience with wood quality controlExperience creating reportsExperience using scale to weigh trucksOur goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
