Join our team in the Martin Health Center or in our Assisted Living Center as a second shift nurse.

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or Assisted Living Leader, these positions are primarily responsible for delivering and supervising nursing care and services to residents in the Martin Health Center or Assisted Living.

Responsible for responding to medical needs of residents, monitoring care delivery, to assure that established standards of care are followed, and to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check, physical, drug screen, COVID-19 vaccine, flu shot, and TB test prior to hire and as requested to continue employment.

Duties: Performs direct patient care to residents according to physicians’ orders and in conformance with the recognized nursing procedures, established standards and administrative policy.

Administers medications and treatments as prescribed.

Assists with the administration of specialized therapy including infusion therapy, PICC lines, respiratory, tracheotomy care, wound care, wound vacs, G-tubes, etc.

Performs admissions, including assessments and documentation on all residents.

Education/License: Must be a graduate in good standing of an accredited school of nursing.

Current and unencumbered license to practice in the State of Illinois as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Professional Nurse.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Good verbal and communication skills.

Good organization, problems solving and prioritization skills.

Working knowledge of health care delivery in the Geriatric, Rehabilitation, or Skilled Nursing setting.

Knowledge of the aging process, pharmacology, assessment of the elderly and practical application of clinical interventions.

Desire to work in a skilled/rehabilitation setting is required.

Work experience in Gerontological Nursing is strongly desired.

Medical/Surgical experience is acceptable.

Other: Employee background check must be clear of convictions as described in policy Current CPR certification is required.
