Legal Secretary

This is a Contract position in San Antonio, TX posted December 19, 2021.

Adams & Martin Group has partnered with growing nationwide law firm who is looking for a skilled litigation secretary who has 3 years of hands on litigation experience.

Responsibilities: Prepare and proofread legal documents to include: TOC/TOA, Exhibits for motions/opps, shell letters, shell pleadings, MSJ and exhibits, template discovery and draft answers.

Accurately file documents with appellate, supreme court to include courtesy copies, etc.

File & Serve documents through File & Servexpress and Legal Service vendors as needed.

Contact courts to determine motion hearings dates, etc.

Schedule court depositions, hearings, and other meetings.

Order transcripts as requested Tracks dismissals and close out case files Calendaring to include sends motions, exhibits, etc.

for calendar and daily summary Process third party and vendor invoices File, organize, scan, copy and fax legal documents and other mailings in a timely manner Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders Register attorneys for conferences, speaking engagements or webinars Coordinate event coordination and in-house client meeting preparation Responsible for supply inventory and order supplies as needed Responsible for maintaining all office and kitchen cleanliness daily Daily Mail / Fax distribution Other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications: 3 years’ experience as a paralegal or legal secretary Familiarity with legal documents and terminology Working knowledge of litigation management software systems Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Must possess the following skills: Organization, Planning, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Dependability, Client Confidentiality Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines and follow up required Able to work as a team with attorneys and other colleagues as well as external clients at all levels Able to take direction and exhibit initiative to conduct work independently Demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor Strong written and communication skills exhibiting polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, etc.

Ability to receive multiple directives in a fast-paced environment and prioritize accordingly.
