ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKSPartners with assigned locations to provide strategic Human Resources support and communicates and enforces HR policy and procedures to personnel.Promotes and adheres to DGS policy concerning, Anti-Harassment, Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action.Informs management of risk assessment and counsels management on employee relations issues and administrative action procedures.Conducts investigations, documents findings and makes recommendations for appropriate action.Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.Answers employee questions and resolves issues in a professional and timely manner.Monitors state and local laws to ensure compliance.Advises managers and employees regarding requests for leaves of absence and administrative policies and procedures.Updates and maintains employee information in HRIS system.Assists managers with recruiting as needed.Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Knowledge of HR Laws and regulations such as: Wage and Hour, Title VII, OFCCP, EEO/AAP, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s compensation, I-9, E-Verify and DGS policies and procedures.

Excellent computer skills with proficiency in word, excel, and HRIS system.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to analyze, read and interpret data..Competency Statement(s)Problem Solving/Judgment Gathers and analyzes large amounts of information and utilizes HR knowledge in concert with policy and procedures to make sound decisions in a timely manner.Confidentiality – Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate sensitive information on a “need to know” basis and ensures employee files are properly secured.Analytical-Ability to analyze data and perform math computations.Organizational/Time Management-Ability to work in an organized fashion and under time constraints to respond to employee questions or concerns.Customer Service Ability to take care of the employees needs while following company policy and procedures and responds and follows-up with employees in a timely manner.Accuracy/Detailed Ability to pay attention to detail and perform work accurately and thoroughly to ensure that work is documented and presented appropriately.Diversity Ability to work in a friendly, respectful and professional manner with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability etc.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience required.
