Job Description:BASIC FUNCTION: The Cosmetologist performs hair cutting, styling, chemical treatments (colors and perms) and scalp treatments on guests.

Performs manicures, pedicures, artificial nail techniques and hand and foot treatments on the guests.

Performs make-up application on guests.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate or equivalent.Licensed by State Board of Cosmetology, Esthetician or Cosmetologist.One-year previous experience.CPR certification preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ability to perform current, fashionable and age appropriate hair styles using the following techniques; shampooing, cutting, setting, round brush blow dry, razor cutting, perms and color.

Consult with the guest to ensure expectations are met for a pleasurable visit, may include site tour.

Ability to perform various coloring and treatment procedures and scalp treatments as requested by the guest.

Cross-trained to perform all services within a unisex salon operation such as nail care, hand/foot treatments, make-up applications, facial/skin care and waxing as determined by license and certification.

Prepare hair care equipment, treatment areas and supplies daily, and complete all tasks necessary for opening and closing shifts.

Performs make-up application on guests.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain the cleanliness of the salon area, and rest of the Spa/Gym area as needed.

Attend product knowledge training as required.

Keep current and up to date knowledge of changing trends and developments in the department.

Respond to any special projects requested by the Director of Spa Services, Resort Manager or General Manager.ENVIRONMENT: Work in doors in a well-ventilated salon.PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA – US only):Requires constant standing and occasional walking.Requires frequent reaching and occasional crouching, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs.Requires frequent manual dexterity, fine, and gross motor skills.Requires good vision.
