Automation Test Engineer

In this position, you will help in testing and verification activities on a range of assignments in the Drive Products – Motion in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Reporting to the Testing & Laboratory Manager, under general guidance of supervisor, the test engineer develops and implement appropriate tests and automations to ensure compliance to design, validation, verification and quality requirements.

The selected candidate will provide support for development efforts while ensuring protection of the test environment, including physical facility and staff.

Performs various test engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgement and application of standard engineering principles and practices.

Pursues initiatives to improve test efficiency and effectiveness of the test group to increase customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities Automate new and existing test processes to increase test reliability, repeatability and efficiency.

Identify current test process gaps and implement reliable and more robust solutions.

Perform LabVIEW and software programming to support the test and automation processes.

Document test programs, setups and processes including programming methodology for future reference.

Participate in 3rd party test certification audits and certify automation test processes for compliance to ISO17025 as required.

Prepare materials and conduct training to R&D personnel.

Provide direction for future capital investment related to automation development and maintenance.

Support software updates and hardware upgrades to keep lab computers and test equipment current and functioning properly.

Ensure people and organizational capabilities required in the mid-long term are understood and actioned.

Ensure that the business positions in the short term are adequately staffed to meet or exceed the annual business targets.

Interrogates HR Analytics data to understand key organizational dynamics, trends and issues and define and execute appropriate actions.

Your background Bachelor degree in electrical or electronics engineering and five years of industrial experience required (preferably with automation).

Experience with LabVIEW, PLC, AutoCAD Electrical required.

Travel up to 10%.
