Job Summary

The VP, Growth & Business Performance, HCSC pharmacy is a highly collaborative, influential, and experienced senior leader responsible for development and execution of business strategies which drive pharmacy growth (customers and members) and financial performance (revenue management, business intelligence and analytics). This includes the overall go-to-market strategy of the pharmacy product line (including product innovation and development), and the integration of pharmacy growth strategies across HCSC home state plans as well as sixth market national opportunities. The VP is accountable for setting and meeting sales, marketing, and support goals. Works across the organization with state plan and enterprise sales teams; and collaborates cross-functionally with finance, clinical management, and operations. In addition, the position will serve as a visible leader of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) pharmacy, and will support various growth activities, including presentations, committees, and/or other activities to support HCSC pharmacy presence in growth markets. Directs internal and external resources including the internal pharmacy sales team, as well as PBM resources. Develop long- and short-term growth strategies for pharmacy business accountable for the development and attainment of annual membership and margin goals while improving the competitiveness, market share, and profitability HCSC’s pharmacy business. Partner with PBM to ensure ongoing competitiveness of HCSC’s pharmacy product offering and ensuring optimal cost structures with external partners measure and analyze current and potential revenue streams and diversification offerings, and relationships to optimize growth and profitability. Oversee the formation of business partnerships and negotiation of contracts. Capture prospect needs and market trends. Consult with executive leadership and internal teams for solution development. Oversee and implement full sales cycle, including market research, needs analysis, pitch, closing, renewal, and upsell. Manage business development pipeline: identify, evaluate, solicit, and follow-up with targets through multiple sales, communications, and marketing methods. Develop networks to source new or grow current business: develop relationships with key account representatives; identify brokers and general agents and develop relationships targeted to retaining and growing the market; pursue strong relationships with select consulting firms focused on the market segment. Respond to RFPs, review contractual agreements, and work with cross-functionally to write proposals and sows, including the preparation of project budgets. Ensure prompt, accurate, and high-quality service to prospective and existing accounts provide direction and guidance to primary sales force to assist in the placement and/or renewal of business. Negotiate directly with key accounts and coordinate renewal activities resolve account exceptions concerning benefits, financial arrangements, and administrative processing. Maintain deep market knowledge, including competitor products and insurance trends. Maintain extensive knowledge of HCSC products, services, systems, and processes, especially within the pharmacy business. Serve as a visible leader of pharmacy in HCSC markets by participating in state and enterprise business development activities, including presentations, committees, and/or other activities. Direct, motivate and maintain staff. Develop methodologies, training curricula and metrics to ensure the team is well-prepared to meet evolving demands of the marketplace. Prepare and present strategic content to the highest levels within an organization, internally and externally.

Required Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor Degree
* 10 years in a pharmacy industry to include 4 years of managed care account management/sales/servicing experience.
* 6 years of management experience in health care operations.
* Seasoned leader and proven manager with significant experience in growing a business. Expertise in strategic planning, marketing, business development, budgeting, and resource management.
* Collaborative leader; strategic mindset; visionary; strong influencing and negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of pharmacy products and pricing.
* Proven ability to deliver results through others. Mentoring and leadership skills.
* Knowledge of marketing and account management techniques.
* Sales/marketing strategy development experience.
* Knowledge of managed care products, processes, and trends.
* Ability and willingness to travel including overnight stays.

* Financial acumen.
* Verbal and written communications skills, including business writing, building relationships, developing and facilitating presentations.
* PC experience and skills including Microsoft office applications of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Business Administration; MBA.
* Pharmacy Benefit Manager or Pharmacy Benefit Consulting Executive leadership experience
* Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD)
* 10 years director/executive level experience directing sales/account management of complex or enterprise accounts.
* Pharmacy sales experience.

* Current state health agent license
