Research Associate II, Pharmacology (La Marque)

JOB DESCRIPTION:Performs a variety of routine and non-routine research assignments and experiments and assists with lab maintenance responsibilities.

Min Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in basic science or equivalent and 2 years of related experience or Master’s degree in basic science or equivalent and no experience required.

Specific Job Related Duties:

Specifically, under general supervision will:

  • Perform routine and non-routine research assignments and electrophysiological experiments using manual patch-clamp, automated planar patch-clamp, ex vivo and in vivo electrophysiology
  • Prepare electrophysiological assays and conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of the acquired data
  • Make modifications to research procedures as determined by the Principal Investigator;
  • Maintain records of all tests performed and data collected and provide preliminary analysis of results; Assist in the compilation and tabulation of data and analysis of final data
  • Ensure the accurate assembly, calibration, operation and modification of a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines, specifically the electrophysiological equipment
  • Perform literature searches as outlined by the Principal Investigator
  • May provide guidance to junior research staff
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Commensurate with experience

Preferred Skills:

Chemical Science/Biochemistry/Biological Assays Quantitative Analysis Qualitative Analysis Data Analysis Tabulation of Data, experience with electrophysiological assays.
