Technical Sales Support Engineer 1

Your Role:

Delivery Systems and Services (DS&S) platform provides GASGUARD specialty gas delivery equipment, CHEMGUARD liquid chemical equipment, Polyflow slurry delivery and Part Clean/Carrier Clean equipment and associated turnkey installation and services to Versum customers. 

This position is accountable for providing technical and aftermarket support for Delivery Systems & Services (DS&S) offerings including GASGUARD®, ChemGuard®, and Polyflow equipment products for the Americas and Europe with an initial focus on the GASGUARD®, ChemGuard®, Product line of equipment. This position will be integrated into the North America and Europe Sales Team and will mainly provide support to the Sales Engineers in these regions. The Technical Sales Specialist will manage the sales efforts of spare parts, retrofits and services as well as handling customer complaints, warranty and services issues for our customers based in these regions.

This position is a high activity position working as an integral part of the Sales team. A qualified candidate will be a strong team player that is able to work with internal and external partners and customers to develop strong relationships that effectively support Sales activities. The position will be located Tempe, AZ, Allentown, PA or Austin, TX.   

  • Develop quotations for spares and retrofit opportunities for new fabs, expansions, and process changes.
  • Support general equipment proposals as needed to support the Sales Engineer.
  • Monitor order execution for capital equipment manufacturing progress regarding shipment schedule.
  • Monitor on-time shipment of materials to customers and track down missing parts as required by customer inquiries.
  • Coordinate with the Sales engineer and appropriate internal individuals to help facilitate the closure of manufacturing and engineering offline issues.
  • Provide technical sales support to customers (as needed by the Sales engineer) for spare parts and minor spec gas and chemical precursor equipment questions.
  • Assist the Sales Engineer with managing Customer Specific Equipment and Spare Parts Price lists.
  • Internal sales team point of contact for reporting progress and closure of Customer quality notifications to the Sales Engineer for communication to the customer. 
  • Sales interface for Start-up services opportunities in region. Responsible for coordinating with customers and Versum Regional Sales Manager when equipment is scheduled to ship and when start-up support is needed.
  • Flexibility in dealing with competing priorities, have the skills for developing solutions for customer needs and a willingness to work in a fast-paced organization.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other technical field
  • 3+ years of project and/or commercial experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry
  • 5+ years of experience working with semiconductor delivery equipment such as spec gas, slurry and chemical

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of electronics specialty gas/chem equipment design and operation
  • Considerable inter-personal and organizational skills
  • Ability to influence the cross functional team
  • Ability to inspire the confidence of Management and Customers in correspondence and reaction to problems
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple problems at one time
  • Desire to advance into a Sales Engineering role
