STAFF ACCOUNTANT

SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

This position works closely with the Controller on daily financial matters and any special projects requested.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash receipt processing, weekly bank deposits; and accounts payable, including input of bills and cutting checks.

Maintain control and reconcile activity of corporate American Express card.

Manage and prepare the timely filing of monthly sales tax returns through Avatax system.

Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.

Be involved in all facets of the month-end process.

Assist in the annual financial audit.

Assist in annual company budget preparation.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required 2-3 years of professional accounting experience Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures Minimum of 1-2 years of sales tax return experience including monthly return filing and research.

Familiarity with financial accounting statements Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central software is a plus

Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs (Fundamental pivot table experience) Excellent organization skills and attention to detail Reliable and able to work independently.

Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or phone May be asked to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times
