 Job Description
In Uvalde, TX:  Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time  Chief Financial Officer with FQHC experience   to be responsible for the overall financial operation of the health center. 

Job Overview
Monitors and reconciles monthly Accounts Receivable Report Generates quarterly 941 Tax Report, and TWC quarterly report Monitors monthly bank statement reconciliation Prepares cost estimates and quarterly allotment of funds by cost center Prepares special financial reports and performs special financial analysis when requested by CEO EHR: NextGen

Community Overview

Uvalde County is located in the Southwest part of the state of Texas, approximately 90 miles west of San Antonio, along U.S.

Highway 90.

Real and Edwards Counties lie north/northwest of Uvalde County.

Leakey, the Real County seat, and Rocksprings, the Edwards County seat, are located 40 miles and 70 miles, respectively, from the City of Uvalde.

Additionally, Uvalde is located approximately 80 miles from the U.S./Mexico border.

Our entire service area is located in the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Public Health Region (PHR) 8.

The service area is a retail center for extensive cattle, sheep and goat ranching, and truck farming.

Industries include vegetable packing and processing, aircraft modifications and garment making.

Crops grown in the area include sorghum, cabbage, onions, and corn.

Additionally, tourism, primarily associated with hunting and camping, generates valuable revenue for the area.

Practice Description :
A community-based health care agency incorporated in 1983 in Uvalde County, Texas as a 501(c)3 agency.

This clinic began providing services in 1984 with Migrant Health Center funding and in 1986 received additional funding.

It was founded by residents of Uvalde County concerned over the lack of access to quality and affordable health care for the uninsured/underserved and, to serve as an advocate for change to improve the lives of working poor families.

The service  area  includes the following counties: Uvalde, Real, Edwards, and parts of Zavala.

Their mission  is to continuously improve the health and well-being (Nuestro Bienestar) of the communities they serve.

Their  target population  is uninsured/ underserved individuals residing in the agency’s Rural/Frontier/Border service area living below 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL) and persons without a health care home.

This clinic further targets Migrant/Seasonal Agricultural Workers (MSAWs) and Veterans as special populations.

The agency has maintained deemed status under FTCA since implementation of coverage for health centers began.

The National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) recognized this agency as a Level III Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) in 2020.
